Master Sueyoshi Akeshi presents a serious study of Yari on this DVD, and more specifically the So-Jutsu, with ten solo drills and kihon.  While the difficulty is common to all these movements, it is the distance control - due to the size of the weapon, that is the most difficult, except in the hands of Master Akeshi, where this weapon is easily handled by his usual skills.

Also presented are the Kumidashi Hiden, which are executed with Fokuro-Shinai, certainly the most desirable weapon for the study of this group of ten techniques. 

The speed of movements taught, requires intense concentration by both practitioners, since the risk of accident is most certainly present.  Therefore, the use of Shinai Fokuro minimizes these risks.
