The Naginata is a traditional weapon used by feudal Japanese Samurai warriors similar to a spear with a curved blade. Its use is similar to that of a katana but it is shorter then a yari or spear, for this reason you can execute more attacks and defenses, while it can also be used much faster and efficiently. In this DVD Master Akeshi will show you in detail 20 Kumidqashi of Naginata and 5 Kumidashi of Kihon, these later ones will create a bridge between the Naginata and the katana and will emphasize the similarities between the two. These kumidashi are performed with a bokken that due to the weight will help awaken the dormant muscles that help in a decisive way the behaviour and evolution of both weapons.
