Filipino martial arts, is a combative art and a complete self defense fighting system, employing several types of weaponry, including knives, swords and rattan sticks. On Volume 6 of this series Paul Vunak, with his usual informative and descriptive style of teaching, demonstrates Filipino stick fighting. He starts off by discussing footwork and ranges, checking and smacking the opponent’s hand many different ways using a partner. Many scenarios of attacks are discussed and demonstrated by Vunak, as well as drills, self defense and sparring techniques using a single stick, double sticks, a stick and dagger and a staff.
