Masayuki Shimabukuro was born in March 1948 in Osaka, Japan. He studied Judo, Karate-do and Okinawan weapons as a teenager. His sword training began in 1975. On this DVD Shimabukuro teaches the fundamentals of Samurai swordsmanship and the 12 Shoden Omori-Ryu Seiza Waza first level techniques. The majority of these techniques are performed by Shimabukuro from a kneeling posture. Also included are defense techniques against single and multiple opponents.
