The 10 Chuden Tatehiza Waza techniques are performed from the Tatehiza posture used by relaxing samurai. Shimabukuro received the rank of 8th dan in Muso Jikiden Eishin-Ryu Iaido and Shito-ryu Karate-do, and holds the coveted title of Hanshi in both Iaido and Karate-do.
