Taught by Master Higaonna, 10th Dan, Volume 3 of this series of 24 DVDs deals with stances and footwork. Master Higaonna starts with the basic stances of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate and explains that stances are different to each individual body type. Demonstrated and discussed are the rarely used closed foot stance, the formal attention stance, where Master Higaonna explains where your toes should be located, as well as other stances used in different katas. He also shows you how to pay attention to your bent knees, hips and back, and how these stances should look while performing a kata. Many other kata stances are explored, and the footwork is discussed and explained. Also discussed is weight distribution on the feet. Master Higaonna also shows you how to execute crisp, strong and fast kicks from these stances.
