Master Augustine Fong discusses the history of Wing Chun Kung-Fu on Volume 8 of this series. Wing Chun Kung-Fu is a martial art which was developed in southern China approximately 300 years ago. Its originator, the Buddhist Nun Ng Mui, was a master of Shaolin Kung-Fu and used this knowledge to invent a way to take advantage of the weaknesses inherent in the other Shaolin systems. The martial arts style that came to be known as Wing Chun originated in a period of civil war which marked the transition between the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Master Fong also discusses the concepts and traditions of Wing Chun.
