Sweden's Iron Man

Born 1942 in Hungary, started karate 1951 under Sawabe Ironishi and later recieved Shodan in 1957. At the age 16 he joined the French foreign legion and fought in Alger.

During 60s he became student of Chojiro Tani & Yoshinao Nambu. Later he introduced Shukokai & Sankukai to Scandinavia, especially Sweden that he moved to 1969.

During the 70s and 80s conducted camps with, and introduced several great masters of Shito-ryu to countries in Europe and Middle East, names such as Tani, Nambu, Demura, Kuniba, Kussano and more.

Tamas life has been traditional karate but he also was a part of the Swedish National Team and arranged the first Shukokai European Championship in the 70s.

During the 80s Tamas worked as an Army Officer and close combat instructor for Swedish Police Forces.

He received Godan by Teuro Hayashi and 1983 received Nanadan by Shogo Kuniba.

As a Hombucho for Seishinkai he introduced Motobu-ha to Europe & MiddleEast in the 80s.

2000 he received Kudan by Soke Toshio Kaneta (Motobu-ha) and World Karate Federation and today holds the official rank of Judan.

2009 he become the first European in Masters Hall of Fame.

He founded Sanshin Kan International to preserve the knowledge and experience of traditional karate that he has received over 60 years of training, teaching and living karate. His karate has always been about efficiency.

He is for sure one of the Grand Old men of European Martial Arts,

1962 Wounded in battle in Algeria (received several medals for combat)

1964 Continued training under Sensei Yoshinao Nambu in Paris as a way to overcome his injures

1965 Opened his first dojo in Paris

1965 Training in Japan under Sensei Chojiro Tani and received Nidan

1969 Moved to Sweden and started Sanshin Karate Club to introduce Shito-ryu Tani-ha (Shukokai) to Sweden and Scandinavia

1970 Received Sandan by Sensei Chojiro Tani

1973 Opened the dojo at Olofsgatan

1973 Organized the first Europeean Championship in Shukokai Karate, took place in Stockholm

1973 Continued his karate with Sensei Yoshinao Nambu and joined Sankukai, received Yondan

1973 Started to introduce Shito-ryu Sankudo to Sweden and Scandinavia

1975 was a member of the Swedish national Team in karate

1978 trained in Japan with several masters. Received Godan by, Sensei Teuro Hayashi

1979 received Rokudan by Sensei Tsunaygoshi Ogura

1983 was appointed By Soke Shogo Kuniba as Hombucho in Europe and Middel East for Motobu-ha Seishinkai

1983 Received Nandan by Soke Shogo Kuniba and started to introduce Shito-ryu Motobu-ha in Europe and Middle East

1985 Conducted several seminars and training camps together with Soke Shogo Kuniba in Sweden and other countries in Europe

1991 Continued his karate within Motobu-ha World Organisation

1991 Recived Hachidan by Soke Toshio Kaneta

1996 Opend the Svea Martial Art Center in Sweden

1996 Received Hachidan World Karate Federation

1998 Conducted several seminars and training camps together with Soke Toshio Kaneta in Sweden and other countries in Europe and Middle East

2000 Recieved Kudan by Soke Toshio Kaneta and World Karate Federation

2000 Founded Sanshin Kan International

2005 Received Judan By Soke Toshio Kaneta

2009 The first Europeen inducted in Masters Hall of Fame

During the 70s, 80,s and 90s Tamas have organized training camps ins Sweden, different countries in Europe and Middle East with many high ranked Japanese masters.

His small dojo in Stockholm was for many Japanese masters the first stop in Europe. Names like Shogo Kuniba, Chojiro Tani, Fumio Demura, Yoshionao Nambu, Kenji Kussano is only a few names of Japanese masters who passed his dojo.

During the 80s Tamas worked as an Officer in the Swedish Armed Forces and was close combat instructor in the Army and for Swedish Police Forces.

Tamas have during his karate life continuously travelled to Japan and Okinawa to learn and develop his karate. Since the 70s he has conducted camps seminars in karate and close combat all over the world.

He has founded Sanshin Kan International to preserve the knowledge and experience of traditional karate that he has received during over 60 years of training, teaching and living karate.

During 80s 90s 00s 10s Continued to teach at seminars and Camps around the world several times a year.

Today Sanshn Kan International have students spread over countries in five different continents.

Tamas still teaches karate several days a week in Sanshin Karate Club in Stockholm that today has become one of the oldest still running karate clubs in Sweden.
