Syfer In The Snow

Syfer In The Snow

I have never done this and not likely these two individuals will ever even know I have done this but these two high school teachers changed my life dramatically.

The first is Brad Elliot who I heard from about a month ago right out of the blue. He was my wood shop teacher and he was the first person to ever say I did something good and I truly believe he believed in me. He also had and still does have an absolutely mint original 1956 Corvette with all matching serial numbers. Ha how my heart goes pitter patter thinking about that car. I then bought off of him a 1958 Corvette that I ran into the ground when I was young and filled with testosterone. What a great guy! He was probably the coolest guy I ever met.

Then there was my physed teacher Ian Steele. This man truly helped me more then he will ever know. When I was in grade 11 he had heard I was training in karate and in those days it was really new. He asked if he could come and watch one of my classes and he ended up joining and training with us. Then one day he asked me in the grade 11 pysed class to take everyone thru a exercise class and he had never asked anyone to do it so I did and I bloody killed everyone in the class all those guys I thought were studs were crying after about 10 minutes and this made me want

to do it even harder. Hahahaha After class he complimented me on how well I did and said you should start teaching karate at the school and he said he would help me organize it all at Saltfleet High School. So that was the start and from there everything just seemed to fall in place for me.

The reason I tell you all this story is so that those of you who are teachers of everything look for that kid that has no future and realize you can change his life. Because as you may by now know I was that kid with no future and I often say and I do mean it if it weren't for karate I would have probably ended up a pimp or a diamond thief like in the movies who hang from a rope and steal diamonds . Well at least I would like to think I would have anyway.

Teachers take your job serious and I for one say thank you to you all for helping those of us who were syfers in the snow.
