Kunii Zenya 1894 - 1966
“The Modern Day Musashi”
Kunii was a famous 20th Century sword master from Fukushima Japan. He is considered to be the modern day Miyamoto Musashi.
He challenged many individuals and won most fights. His style was called Kashima Shin Ryu which dates back to 16th Century Japan.
During the American occupation Zenya fought an American military bayonet and after beating him was allowed to continue his training in kendo.
Zenya Kunii was an extremely powerful individual and talented in Kashima Shin Ryu Ju Jitsu and on one occasion he is reported to have been attacked by six individuals who were students of Judo at Aoyama Gakuin University and he defeated all of them using only one powerful kia demonstrating the power of kia Jitsu.
