Description

Author Bucksam Kong is recognized as one of the foremost experts on the Hung Gar style of Kung-fu. He was inducted into the Black Belt Hall of Fame in 1974, and was the chief instructor at the Sil Lum Pai Gung Fu Association, and a foreign adviser to the Hong Kong Chinese Martial Arts Association and to the Hong Kong Choy Li Fut Association.

In this book, Bucksam Kong demonstrates the Hung Gar system, which is one of the most popular styles of Siu Lum Temple Boxing in China. He delves into the basics behind this ancient art, such as the strong stances, and the strong hand techniques, like the bridge hand and the versatile tiger claw. Hung Gar utilizes five classical elements, earth, water, fire, metal and wood to express power, deep meditative breathing and isometric exercise. Hung Gar is a traditional Chinese martial arts system, the most widespread of the five prevalent southern systems, its origins thought to be from the fighting monks of the first Shaolin Temple in Henan province.

An excellent addition to anyone’s martial arts library.
