This book depicts the early development of the Shotokan style as we know it today. Author and editor Motonobu Hironishi of Japanese SHOTOKAN KARATE, was born in January 1920, in Amino-cho, Kyoto Prefecture. He graduated from the Waseda University in 1939. He was instrumental in karate being practiced in Universities and was the Hitotsubashi University Karate Club instructor.
